PANAMEÑO GANA CONCURSO DE ARQUITECTUM

El arquitecto panameño Adolfo Samudio fue el ganador del concurso conceptual House´s Loft, que consistía en el diseño de un apartamento tipo loft en la ciudad de Manhattan para el retiro del doctor Gregory House de la serie House.

La firma de arquitectos Bunker Arquitectura de México propuso esta idea en un concurso para desarrollar la Plaza del Zócalo en la Ciudad de México D.F.

El arquitecto Esteban Suárez ha imaginado un edificio masivo para aquellos que prefieren los agujeros a la altura y una solución novedosa en torno a una ley que prohíbe las estructuras superiores a ocho pisos en el atestado, el centro histórico de la ciudad de México.

En lugar de una torre que se remonta, Suárez quiere cavar una pirámide invertida de casi 300 metros de profundidad con suficiente suficiente para apartamentos, tiendas y oficinas albergando aproximadamente a 100.000 personas.

En un planeta de 7 billones de habitantes, se trata de una idea para ahorrar espacio, cuyo tiempo ha llegado? O una locura de ingeniería imposible construir?

Artist Retreat

Designed by 0 to 1 to be located on the property of a Finnish Fine Artist, this house is a live-work space for a guest artist. The form was generated from local climate, Finnish culture, and functions / guidelines provided by the Artist.

The section is a quarter of an octagon. The octagon increases in size from building front to back creating different volumes for different activities. The largest volume contains the utility cube with sleeping loft above, the central volume contains the work space and the unenclosed volume is an outdoor terrace.

The height of the space ranges from 2.1 meters to 4.2 meters. Entry is a full pivot wall connecting the interior space to the exterior terrace. Existing concrete footings were used for the design.

Currently, Liberia is 162nd in the Human Development Index and is still recovering from the devastation. The Bamboo School Project in Fendell on the outskirts of Monorovia, Liberia, led by Brazilian architect André Dal’Bó da Costa and film maker Vinícius Zanotti, seeks to establish one of the most important social and architectural programs for future development: education.

Acera verde hace electricidad - un paso a la vez

Paving slabs that convert energy from people's footsteps into electricity are set to help power Europe's largest urban mall, at the 2012 London Olympics site.

The recycled rubber "PaveGen" paving slabs harvest kinetic energy from the impact of people stepping on them and instantly deliver tiny bursts of electricity to nearby appliances. The slabs can also store energy for up to three days in an on-board battery, according to its creator.

In their first commercial application, 20 tiles will be scattered along the central crossing between London's Olympic stadium and the recently opened Westfield Stratford City mall -- which expects an estimated 30 million customers in its first year.  Más...
